Push Back Racking
Push back racking is an excellent high-density storage solution that maximises warehouse space while maintaining good accessibility. Unlike traditional shelving, it operates on a Last-In, First-Out (LIFO) system, allowing multiple pallets to be stored on inclined rails. When a new pallet is loaded, it pushes the previous ones back, creating efficient use of depth without requiring extra aisle space. This design is ideal for businesses with medium to high inventory turnover, as it increases storage capacity without expanding the warehouse footprint.
Another key benefit of push back racking is its improved efficiency and flexibility. Since it can store multiple pallets deep (typically 2-6 deep), it reduces the number of aisles needed, freeing up valuable floor space. Although it follows a LIFO system, retrieval remains quick and smooth with the use of standard forklifts. This makes it a cost-effective choice for companies looking to balance storage density with operational efficiency, particularly for perishable goods or products with moderate turnover rates.
