Live Pallet Racking
Live pallet racking (pallet flow racking) is a high density storage system that maximises space efficiency while ensuring smooth inventory rotation. Using gravity-fed rollers or wheels, pallets flow from the loading end to the unloading end, creating a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system. This design is ideal for perishable goods, time-sensitive products, or items with expiration dates, as it ensures older stock is used first. By utilising depth effectively, often storing multiple pallets deep, live pallet racking reduces aisle space and increases storage capacity without requiring a larger warehouse footprint.
Another key benefit of live pallet racking is improved operational efficiency and reduced labor costs. Since pallets move automatically to the pick face, workers spend less time traveling to retrieve items, speeding up order fulfilment. The system minimises manual handling, reducing the risk of damage and worker fatigue. Although it requires a slight incline for gravity flow, the increased throughput and optimised space make it a cost effective choice for warehouses handling high volume, fast-moving inventory.
